Interloper Gewürztraminer (2015)

Interloper Gewürztraminer (2015)

2015 was an absolute scorcher. It tied with 1998 as the hottest year in nearly 20. As a result the Gewürztraminer is nicely ripe with a higher sugar content than we might consider normal around here. But the signature of our vineyard is crispness, so that sweetness is well-balanced. Alsatian in style, this ripe, luscious wine will improve in the bottle. You could hang on to it for a few years.

Heaps of beautiful tropical fruit, a little lychee, and some rose petal jump out of the glass. This wine has a broad round palate with a little fresh ginger present.

Food Pairing Notes
If you have any roast pork kicking around, all the better. Pork rillette wouldn’t be such a bad idea either.

Other Notes
Nicely chilled, but not too, too cold.
