We’re just a little south of Peachland, a little ways north of Summerland at the
historic Greata Ranch site. It’s quiet out here. Serene. A peaceful oasis by the lake
with some incredible views. And, of course, there's all this wine to try too.
Fruit of one kind or another has grown here since 1901. Our family first came to this site in the 1940s, and it was memories of peaches tasted here that led us to a 1994 purchase of what was then an abandoned orchard. We trucked away load after load of things like old tires and broken refrigerators, eventually planted vines, and re-established this land’s proud agricultural tradition. The Family
It’s the defining quality of our site: our wines profile as cool climate, but it’s anything but cool around the vineyard during our short growing season. While temperatures will hit 35°C peak summer, the moderating effect of the lake to our east, and shade from the mountain to our west, allow our vines to retain the freshness and acidity characteristic of cool climate wines. Especially the sparkling.
You can’t rush sparkling. Well, you can, but we choose not to. We use the Traditional Method like they do in the Champagne region of France. It takes up to three years, sometimes longer, but it’s worth every extra day.The Sparkle
