2020 Vintage Recap with Winemaker Sarah Bain

The 2020 season started with a long, cool, wet spring.  Mid July the much anticipated heat arrived which lasted through to September.  October followed with warm days and cool nights, perfect conditions for hanging fruit to develop flavour whilst retaining acidity, which gives our wines the backbone and structure our site is renowned for.  This hang time came to an abrupt end with a very early snow storm that swept through the valley bringing snow to the vineyard floor.  Fortunately the flavours were good and it was all hands on deck to bring all the remaining grapes into the cellar.  Overall yields were balanced and the fruit was clean and healthy, evolving into elegant wines with bright acidity. We can't wait to share the new wines with you!
